Kansas Lottery history was made today as Kimberly Brooks of Wichita has claimed the FIRST EVER Fast Play top prize in the state. The $25,000 prize was won on the new $5 Money Bag Bonus fast play ticket. 

Fast Play is a new category of games comparable to scratch offs but WITHOUT scratching. Fast Play games come in a variety of themes and price points, and the tickets are printed by Lottery terminals and self-service vending machines. Players have been excitedly counting down the days to the June 4 launch of Fast Play, and now there has been a top prize winner! 

“I mostly play scratch tickets, but I had been seeing the ads and messages about Fast Play, so I was ready to give it a shot,” Said Brooks. We decided to buy four of the Money Bag tickets and then took everything home. It wasn’t until later than night that we got around to actually checking the tickets.” 

A stack of four Fast Play tickets would sit on the kitchen table for a couple hours before the couple remembered to check their new games. That is when they noticed something special about one of the tickets. 

“Neither one of us could believe what we were seeing,” said Brooks with a laugh. “We didn’t trust ourselves at first, so we texted a picture to my sister. She said we must be pranking her, but when I said I promised it wasn’t a prank it was just a new type of game, she confirmed that she saw the same thing we did!” 

Now that the ticket has been claimed in Topeka, the couple have some decisions to make about what to do with their winnings. “I need to get some dental work done, which will be so awesome to get taken care of,” Said Brooks. “We also are planning a family trip with the kids, so now we get to have a really fun vacation!” 

The winning ticket was sold through a self-service vending machine at Dillons 65 at 3211 South Seneca Street in Wichita. There are still two $25,000 top prizes, as well as thousands in other cash prizes remaining in the $5 Money Bag Bonus Fast Play instant game.
