Recent Winner

Trevor Schmidt was feeling lucky when he noticed the $20 Gifts of Gold instant ticket from the Kansas Lottery in the display case. He decided that moment to give the game a shot. His intuition paid off with a $10,000 instant win! 

“I just bought the one ticket, it happened to catch my eye,” Schmidt said. “I was feeling lucky, but I didn’t have time to scratch it at that moment, so I took it home with me.” 

Once he got home and had the time, Schmidt played his instant game in the kitchen. His roommate heard him getting more and more excited as he played the game. 

“I just kept finding winning spots, I couldn’t believe it,” Schmidt added. “I was too excited to keep it a secret from my roommate, but I haven’t told anybody else yet!” 

Schmidt, who is 22 years old, said he doesn’t quite know what he’s going to do with his winnings yet. “The smart thing would be to invest most of it, or maybe I could pay off some bills. But I know I’ll take a little bit out to have some fun, that’s the whole point of playing!” 

The winning ticket was sold at Jo’s One Stop at 401 North 69 Highway in Arma, Kansas. There are still three $100,00 top prizes, five $10,000 prizes, and hundreds of thousands in other cash prizes remaining in the $20 Gifts of Gold instant scratch game.
